Rebuilding New Orleans !

The following images are from a trip to New Orleans in June of '08 to help with the rebuild of that great city. After 3 years, much has been done, yet there is so much more to do. West Pasco Habitat for Humanity was represented by Maria and Randy Brandes, Al Couture, Janine and Roger Vigrass. They stayed at a middle school in St. Bernard parish converted to living quarters by the New Orleans Habitat, called Camp Hope. They worked in Harvey, which is in the West Bank, where 10 new homes are being built. They sided 3/4 of a new build with Hardi-board siding in only 5 days. It was 92-94 degrees, very humid, and sunny all week. They left the job site every day totally whipped and exhausted, but it was very worthwhile and they had a great time. They are planning on going again next year. If you are interested in making the trip with them, you will not be sorry you did. It's a great experience !!
